This page explains the cookies and similar storage used on hibc.edu.lk.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise your session on the next page you open.
What we use
- Strictly necessary cookies. A session cookie that keeps you signed in where relevant, and a security token that protects forms from being submitted by another site on your behalf. The website does not work without these, and they carry no advertising value.
- Analytics. Where enabled, we use analytics to count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve them. This tells us about patterns, not about you personally.
- Embedded content. Pages that embed video or social posts load them from the provider, who may set their own cookies. Those are governed by that provider's policy, not ours.
What we do not use
We do not use cookies to build an advertising profile of you, and we do not sell browsing data.
Controlling cookies
Every major browser lets you see the cookies a site has set, delete them, and block new ones. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop parts of this site working — forms in particular.
